From Protectia, we have a special interest in developments related to green patents, connected with environmentally sustainable technologies. For this reason, we welcome today in our “Patents world” section the presentation of a revolutionary green patent, by a great French inventor: Marc Parent.
Basically, the technology he developed produces water and electricity from wind power. As the video explains, it is capable of producing potable water from humidity contained in the air, with a wind turbine or photovoltaic panels.
“This invention will allow many people to have access to […] clean and healthy water every day, simply by using the energy of the wind.” says the inventor. says the inventor about his creation, which promote human wellness and development by providing clean, filtrated water and also helping to reduce the incidents of water borne diseases.
From a sustainability point of view, the wind turbine invention makes electricity, and water with zero emissions and can provide sustainable drinking water to a huge number of communities all over the world.
From the beginning, Marc Parent realized the potential of his ideas thanks to the protection of the invention via Intellectual Property System. He filed his earliest patents in 2000 and 2005 with France’s IP office at the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI).
Later he also filed a worldwide patent for a Machine for Producing Water From Wind Energy through the Patent Corporation Treaty (PCT) System.
He reminds the importance of patent as an indispensable tool in order to:
• Attract investors or clients to buy the right to manufacture the machine in different countries.
• The protection and guarantee of having the exclusive rights on the technology.
If you are curious, here you can find the publication of the patent.
